PRIORITIZING
PETS & PEOPLE

Pets provide joy and companionship to millions of Minnesotans and yet state government still thinks pets are "agricultural products". It's time for change. Support the creation of the Companion Animal Board.

While dogs and cats represent the majority of pets, this board is for all pets and companion animals. No state agency addresses the welfare needs of these animals and the bond to people.

Issue and Need

Currently, in state government,
all pet welfare issues are directed to agriculture - livestock producers.
Pet issues and the needs of those
who care for these animals are unique and require a board with staff who
are experts in pet welfare.
